What began at the markets of Altona is back after ten years. Just a few hundred metres from where it all started.

    At the markets

    For four years, Joyce Bestelmeyer sells her food at markets and street festivals, such as the Ottensen Christmas market and the Altonale.

  2. 2008

    The first Tropical Point

    In March 2008, Joyce opens her restaurant on Paul-Nevermann-Platz, right by Altona station.

  3. 10 years ago

    A long break

    The restaurant has to close, and Tropical Point disappears from the neighbourhood.

  4. 2026

    We’re back

    On 23 October 2026, her daughter Patricia reopens Tropical Point at Große Bergstraße 142, just a few hundred metres from the original spot.

When is the lunch buffet?

Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm: €11 vegetarian, €13 with meat, all you can eat.

Are you open on Sundays?

Yes, on Sundays from 3 pm to 9 pm. The lunch buffet runs Monday to Saturday.
